Eliminate the Mystery

John de Ruiter

Today marks the last day of the seven day retreat in Tiru and I thought I'd offer up a few snippets from one of those meetings, on Friday morning (30 January), when John was speaking succinctly about the ego:

"The ego is a distortion of awareness,
moving within the self it has.
The ego is awareness investing importance in the self
in the thoughts and feelings
within the self and of the self.
If you move with self importance
you have an ego.
When you let go
of your own self importance,
and you no longer do something
out of self importance,
then your movement is real
and it's without ego.
The ego is not some mysterious thing."
*
"When you're genuine,
when you're sincere,
when there's depth to it,
it's done.
That's because you are actually in charge.
That which creates self importance
can, in an instant, drop it all.
Eliminate the mystery.
There's no mystery to integrity.
There's no mystery to Oneness."

Fantastic stuff!  And the broadcasts from Germany and from India have been great, but I have certainly missed being around John in person and am looking forward to seeing him back here at Oasis this Sunday.

Unfortunately I've not been able to upload the most recent dialogue as a podcast just yet - but I will be doing so just as soon as I can!  Meanwhile, if you'd like to contribute to the next dialogue, simply type your question in the form of a comment below, as usual.

Until next time,
Love,
Shanti

  1. Dear John,

How does one really know they are ready to enter into an intimate relationship?
