Sweet Support

sweet
Ahh, only two weeks and three days until the next meeting with John here in Edmonton (not that I'm counting the days or anything).  But yes, having felt the need for a break in order to integrate after the Summer Seminar, I am now quite ready for more ...

This past weekend I was lucky enough to spend some quality times with friends and there were some lively conversations about our experiences of the Seminar and our understanding of what is occurring in Us and of what is to come...  As our conversations ensued and our hearts connected, more than just words were flowing between us and it was really helpful in terms of Being and coming from what I Know is true.  There was real sincerity in our discussions, which were also peppered with delightfully sweet humour, a quality which we all agreed we loved seeing in John too. And there were some lovely oneness moments; true connection, and it was so easy and enjoyable and supportive.  And kind of natural ...

I am happy to report that another Q and A with John will be happening very soon and that you still have time to send in your question should you wish to be in the running to have him answer it. The recorded dialogue will then be uploaded in the next Podcast. Simply type your question for John in the 'comments' beneath this Post.

Until next time,
Love
Shanti

  1. Hi John, Could you clarify for me, 'How do you know you are Knowing and that it's not the mind or self being involved in fooling you that you know and how does believing help ? When I hear the word believing it feels like effort of thought is needed to create the believing. Thank you on

  2. Hi John, I have recently come into your teaching from another teaching which I used to practice dropping into the stillness regularly a few times a day as the teacher said that when you drop into the stillness something good will come out of it. "I did feel the goodness of this method and the stillness would randomly start to happen even when I was not pausing/meditating but I can see I used this method to avoid when difficulty came up instead of integrating into What I Do Not Know ?" I can see I have been attached to this feeling of stillness and so my question is: 'Is Love and Stillness the same thing and if so how can you integrate it into everything ?' Thank You Jane

  3. Hello Shanti,

I was really hoping that you could ask John about Pre-nups. It seems like he teaches about having a relationship with nothing held back. He has also taught about entrusting your heart even when trust is not there. Among other teachings. From that standpoint, it would seem that a prenup would go against all of that and stand between two people as something that prevents full committment and giving to one another and being completely together.

On the other hand, a prenup enables two people to choose what conditions they would face in the event of a divorce. It seems that this would be better than being subject to whatever laws exist at that time. It also seems that the creation, signing and discussion around a prenup would force both people to really take in all of the realities of the surface levels (and perhaps other levels) of a marriage. Making them both fully conscious of what they are committing to and all of the effects of that marriage not lasting. Aside from this there is also the aspect of responsibly protecting yourself from the end of that marriage. But protection seems to be something that would prevent a fully developed and deep relationship.

And perhaps it doesn't matter either way but I would love to hear John's thoughts on this.

  4. I am an 80 old Signposter and have faced death and terrible suffering 3 times in the last few years and have never come across any gurus or religious experts who really KNOW what happens if anything after death. I have no idea and know nothing about it. Is there any consciousness that includes any particular or divine identity that knows what it is after the recycling of the body into other forms. Whatever your answer may be - how do you know that your answer possesses any reality beyond the meaning of your language. Another question: Has the Tibetan Buddhist teaching about the journey of consciousness (the Bardo-process) after death have any validity? Is it possible that a human being can reincarnate as an insect, animal, human, hungry ghost, etc.? How do you know that your response to this question has any truth or reality to it?

  5. Many people get easily sucked back into negative mind, even when they have greater awareness . . .how does one stay in the superconscious positive-awareness space of mind, especially with all the earth and cultural changes and upheavals and suffering that is currently going on in the world?

  6. John what would you say when one is touched by what is greater than oneself regarding not recklessly chatting to others about what is so delicate, yet wanting to share it?

  7. My question is about things that opened up that touched my heart that seem to have no practical significance and I wonder how it changes things on the surface when I can feel like there is no real change at all in my relationships that I would wish would be closer like what has been opening up.
